Have you ever felt lonely and isolated practicing all by yourself? Would you like to grow in your skill at the piano but have limited time to practice during the week? Do you wonder if there are other worship pianists who are going through the same stages of learning that you are?
We were designed to thrive in community. We were made to worship together, to celebrate with others, to encourage and pray for each other, and to grow in community. Often when we do things alone, we get discouraged easily. But when we come together as the body of Christ, we are able to grow together in ways that we could never do alone. Jesus said that He would be present in a special way when we gather together with other believers with Him as the center:
“Where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20).
Welcome to Adoration Community — a place where Jesus is center, we gather around Him, and we grow together! This is a space for worship pianists from around the world to encourage one another, cultivate the heart of worship, and develop our skills at the piano together.

Two community classes per month to connect with each other face to face, worship together, hear from guest speakers, ask questions and get personalized feedback, and learn about topics that may not covered in private lessons. Classes are recorded and available afterwards.
An extensive library of teaching videos, song tutorials, worship devotionals, resources, and Community Class recordings to access on your own time.

Do I need to take lessons or the online courses in order to be part of the community?
No. You can be part of the community instead of or in addition to the lessons/courses, depending on your preference. The community is designed to provide support for wherever you are in your journey, whether or not you are actively learning from Makayla.
Do I need to know the basics of worship piano in order to be part of the community?
No. As part of the subscription, you will receive access to an extensive Resource Library of videos where you can develop your skills at the piano, regardless of your current level. You may also be interested in online lessons or courses to supplement your journey.
How much do I need to practice to be part of the community?
There are no practice requirements. Being part of the community will likely inspire you to practice and develop your skills.
How will I access the community? Is there an app?
After signing up, you will be redirected to the community page on Kajabi. Kajabi is similar to a Facebook group but is more secure and preferable for learning communities. In addition, you can also download the Kajabi Communities app to access the group from your device.
What ages are welcome to join?

About Makayla
Makayla was self-taught at the piano until college, when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with specializations in Piano Pedagogy and Arranging. She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano through MTNA and also has associate degrees in Education and Business. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation.
When Makayla started teaching piano independently after college, she discovered the need for worship piano resources that teach not only how to play the piano but also how to worship. She also found that traditional piano lessons often focus on a different skill set than what is needed to play for worship. As a result of these findings, she began to develop and refine an innovative method for learning worship piano, which she uses for her private lessons and Worship Essentials courses.
Adoration Music Academy (formerly Making Melody Music Academy) exists to raise up lovers of Jesus who live their lives to adore Him, worshipping with musical excellence from a heart of first love. Our vision is that worshippers would arise from around the world who sit at His feet, minister to His heart, and love Him forever.
