About Our Teachers

My name is Makayla, and I am a lover of Jesus, a classically trained pianist, and a music teacher! My favorite verse is Jeremiah 32:39, which says, “I will give them one heart and one purpose: to worship Me forever.” I believe with all my heart that we were made to love Jesus, and I enjoy seeing other people discover His beauty and worship Him.

I was self-taught at the piano until college, when I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with specializations in Piano Pedagogy and Arranging. I am a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano through MTNA, and I also have associate degrees in Education and Business.

As I started teaching piano independently after college, I discovered the need for worship piano resources that teach not only how to play the piano but also how to worship. I also found that traditional piano lessons often focus on a different skill set than what is needed to play for worship. As a result of these findings, I began to develop and refine an innovative method for learning worship piano. I now use this method for my private lessons and online worship piano courses.

Adoration Music Academy (formerly Making Melody Music Academy) exists to raise up lovers of Jesus who live their lives to adore Him, worshipping with musical excellence from a heart of first love. Our vision is that worshippers would arise from around the world who sit at His feet, minister to His heart, and love Him forever.

About Our Logo

Masterfully crafted into one design are the two themes of Jeremiah 32:39: “one heart” and “one purpose.” The design is both the heart of Jesus and the alabaster flask.

Both are broken, for it is in the breaking of our hearts before Him that we enter into His heart. The blood vessels near the middle of the design also function as cracks in the alabaster jar, as the jar broken in costly worship is the doorway into His heart.

The drops have a threefold meaning, representing (1) the oil of the Holy Spirit that flows from His heart, as well as the oil that Mary poured at His feet; (2) teardrops of our own suffering and joy mingled with His, for He is the one who bears our griefs and carries our sorrows; and (3) the blood that flowed from the wounds of Jesus and brings us into His heart.

The “one heart” is the heart of Jesus, and the “one purpose” is to love and worship Him forever. These two themes are united in one design, because through worship we enter into union with Him.

The entire design is blue to represent heaven, for His heart is heaven and our eternal home.
