How to Play “O Praise the Name” on Piano

“O praise the name of the Lord our God; O praise His name forevermore. For endless days we will sing Your praise, O Lord, O Lord our God.” This is a timeless worship song speaking of Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection, and future return. As you play it for church or personal worship, picture the cross as the Son of Heaven displayed His unconditional love for you.

Chord chart

Here are the chords for this song in the key of G:

As you can see from the chord chart above, this song uses 5 main chords: G, C, D, Bm, and Em. The diagrams below show how to play each of these chords:

Play each chord with the right hand, and play a single note with the left hand. (For example, when the right hand plays a G chord, the left hand should play a single note G. When the right hand plays a C chord, the left hand plays a C note, etc.)

For slash chords (for example, G/B), play the G chord in the right hand. In the left hand, play a single note B (instead of the G that we would normally play). For the slash chord G/D, play the G chord in the right hand and a single note D in the left hand.
